1/31/2024 0 Comments Conquest of elysium 5 review![]() When you come across something in the game you don’t understand completely, go to the manual and use Control+F to search for the key word in whatever you’re looking for. Here’s a tip that helped me: Have the manual open. I printed this table to remind myself of the different hotkeys and abilities… and then totally forgot about it and just played the game normally. For example, commanders, which can command troops, have green text in the recruitment window, units with fire abilities can burn forests, and there is a hot key for both unit and area special effects. There are some things I learned from the manual that I didn’t figure out on my own. It goes into greater detail on a lot of things you won’t use right away, so you can skim or skip sections that don’t mention something you think you need to know at the moment. ![]() The manual is a manageable 67 pages long. Then I realized I was missing some things and I decided to read the manual. However, I did feel like I understood many of the fundamentals of the game by paying attention and playing for just a couple of hours. Elysium 4 has about 40% fewer menus and 80% fewer submenus, making it far easier to comprehend and remember.Īn interactive tutorial, even a dull one, would have been a nice option. The learning curve for Dominions 4 was just shy of being as difficult as playing a game in a language I didn’t understand. Starting off, Conquest of Elysium 4 is much easier to grasp than Dominions 4. The map is shrouded in mystery, and then areas you’ve explored but are not currently visible have a fog over them. You win the game by taking every citadel on the map so your opponents can no longer spawn units or by wiping out every enemy commander, making it so their troops are unable to execute orders.Įarly game exploration. Each one offers you different troops and special events that can happen, making each army and each play through exciting and varied. There are witches, trolls, centurions, necromancers, and much more. Each army is different, focusing on unique abilities and strategies based on the commanders and units they have. In Conquest of Elysium 4, you command an army set on world domination. Since the same people who made Conquest for Elysium 4 made Dominions 4, the knowledge I had of the latter did give me a bit of an edge. If you think receiving a free copy would influence me to put a positive spin on my review rather than being truthful, I swear on the sales of my books, this is an honest review.Īvailable on: Windows, Mac, Linux, and Steam OS.ĩ1% of my knowledge on strategy games comes from playing Dominions 4, and the other 9% comes from hearing my old roommate complain about StarCraft 2. Price I paid: The developers, ill winter, gave me a copy of Conquest of Elysium 4 before release.

1/31/2024 0 Comments People on ssi on the wrise![]() An SSA spokesperson noted that the agency “experienced many years where we received less than the annual President’s Budget request.” The SSA has authorized about 6,000 hires in fiscal year 2021 for its “front line components,” but having enough warm bodies is only part of the solution. In 2010, the SSA had over 67,000 full-time employees. Staffing has declined precisely as much as the funding because that’s where the money goes.” “The more people you have to take claims and answer questions, the more quickly and accurately it gets done. “It’s a customer service agency, and you need money for that,” says Kathleen Romig, a CBPP senior policy analyst who authored the analysis (and who worked at the SSA for eight years). Since 2010, the SSA’s operating budget - set each year by Congress - has declined by 13 percent and its staff by 12 percent, while the number of Social Security beneficiaries has increased 22 percent, according to an analysis by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. Is the agency equipped to handle it? Less money, less staff Īs with most things, customer service issues are tied in large part to money. But with roughly 10,000 boomers reaching retirement age every day, the workload for customer service staff will only increase. “We anticipate that the field offices will restore increased in-person service to the public, without an appointment, in early April,” an SSA press officer said in January.)Īccording to the SSA, shortening phone-wait times since 2018 point to an improvement in service. “You have to ask: How good are their computer systems and how good are the connections?” (The 1,200 field offices may reopen this spring. “You have people working remotely,” adds Mary Beth Franklin, a certified financial planner and the author of Maximizing Social Security Retirement Benefits. The pandemic has exacerbated previously existing customer service challenges, including conflicting advice and long wait times, says Joel Eskovitz, director of Social Security and savings at the AARP Public Policy Institute. And AARP routinely hears complaints from members about their difficulties getting help from the agency.ĬOVID-19, which led the SSA to temporarily shutter its 1,200 field offices, isn’t helping matters. Nationally syndicated columnist Tom Margenau, former director of the Social Security Administration’s public information office, wrote on the topic last August, noting that “almost every day I hear from readers who have been misled by an SSA representative.” Another popular money columnist, Liz Weston, also recently reported about older Americans’ frustrations with service from the SSA. As to complaints, the anecdotal evidence is plentiful. The delays were worse in 2018, when a caller would wait an average of 24 minutes to speak with someone. In fiscal year 2011, someone trying to reach Social Security by phone had to wait three minutes to be connected with a representative in fiscal 2020, the average wait was 16 minutes. While there’s no hard data on complaints about SSA service, the SSA does release data on wait times for callers. And then when you finally get ahold of someone, they seemingly just don’t care about helping you and are highly unqualified to answer your questions or to lead you to where you could get answers.” “It’s when you call, you wait on hold forever. “It’s not just the issues themselves,” says Sauer, a former career employee at a Fortune 500 company who worked in international finance. But after 12 conversations with local SSA customer service representatives and two calls to the agency’s national call center, Sauer remained not only puzzled but also frustrated. So Sauer called the Social Security office near his home in Fairfield Township, Ohio, to address the problem. Because he was claiming benefits a year after his full retirement age, he was expecting bigger payments than what the SSA said he would receive. When Jim Sauer read the letter from the Social Security Administration (SSA) in October 2021, he was puzzled. 1/31/2024 0 Comments Clean my mac![]() This malware scrubber will even give you an update on your CPU, battery life and disk space.ĬleanMyMac X clears up space by going through system junk - think redundant files, obsolete logs and caches, unnecessary data files and languages, unnecessary photo files (which won’t affect the originals you want to keep), unnecessary mail attachments and iTunes detritus (let that Blink-182 album art go, my friend).ĬleanMyMac X goes after malware by digging out viruses, spyware and other programs designed to piggyback onto your computer’s processor. Even though he was forced by Jimmy to hand over the role to Crystal when Rosita had a bout of vertigo, he hesitated and asked for her opinion. He addressed her insecurities and continued to support her. He constantly encouraged and assured her that she was perfect for the role. This incident brings to light the trust and the concern he felt for each member.Īnother incident where Buster displayed level-headed leadership was when he handed the main role to Rosita. Buster hesitated, concerned about her safety, but ultimately trusted her enough to let her persuade Clay. The movie then ends with Jimmy getting arrested and Buster and his troop returning to their town after achieving their dreams. Meanwhile, Crystal and Calloway successfully joined the troop, and Buster could put on the show he wanted to present in front of the audience. However, several of his attempts to murder Buster were thwarted due to Buster’s troops getting in his way to save him. Jimmy was furious because he thought he had lost face. The news channels caught wind of it and accused Crystal of being dumb. Crystal misunderstood him and thought she was fired. Because Crystal could not act, Buster assigned her a different role. To Buster’s dismay, Jimmy also forced him to cast his daughter Crystal in his upcoming play, which, to Buster’s dismay, was a disaster. ![]() Jimmy Wolf had also lost the beloved façade he had kept up for fame’s sake due to Buster’s not delivering positive results according to the condition. Even though Chatology searches through them all with no problem, narrowing down the results to the exact message you need can take some time because there’s no way to separate chat logs by the chat service that created them (this is OS X’s fault, not Chatology’s, however). That’s a lot of conversations to go through. In my case, all of my App.net private messages, AIM conversations, and iMessages were imported. Because Chatology stores all of your logs from the Messages app, all of your AIM or Yahoo! messages are also logged, along with those from any services you might use, such as the Amy plugin. If you just want to read a series of messages from yesterday or a few days ago, you’re probably better off scrolling backwards in the Messages app.ĭue to the way Chatology separates logs by date, if you don’t know the exact date of the message you’re looking for, it can quickly become a pain to find what you need.Īnother factor that can cause some trouble searching Chatology is the sheer number of messages that it stores. For starters, the design of Chatology makes it somewhat impractical for anything other than searching. ![]() Now that we know what Chatology does, let’s address how well it does that. This feature is very handy if you frequently search your messages but prefer Chatology’s search interface over Apple’s. When this option is enabled, pressing Command-F in the Messages app brings up Chatology instead of the usual Messages search bar. Chatology also provides some extra search parameters, making it easy to find links or images in a conversation.Ĭhatology also has the ability to integrate with Messages. Upon first run, Chatology imports all of these messages (tens of thousands in my case, and probably more for many other users) and catalogs them so that you can easily search them. ![]() It’s these chat logs that Chatology reads. If you delete those files (or disable saving them), your Messages app won’t be able to store the seemingly infinite chat history that you normally see. These chat logs are then used to keep track of threads and conversations in the Messages app. Messages for Mac saves every conversation you have to a file on your hard drive by default. In short, Chatology is a chat log viewer. You still have to use the Messages app to send or receive iMessages and IMs on other platforms. However, it doesn’t actually feature any messaging capability. Chatology is a separate app, not a plugin. The real answer is somewhere in between those two. Others hypothesized that it would be some kind of tweak or plugin for Messages that solved the search problem right in the same app. The biggest question that most people had when Chatology was first teased was simple: what does the app actually do? Some assumed that it would be a full-blown messaging suite with improved search features. 1/31/2024 0 Comments Family tree templates for pages![]() This template also provides some clues as to where the. I just wanted to share with you about a tool I’ve come to use increasingly often as time’s gone on.Typora is the favorite Markdown editor of many, and it's easy to see why. I’ve never found Emacs a great fit for the way I work anyway (and the key chords hurt after a while), so I didn’t spend a lot of time here. Yep, I did try it! No simple way for a live preview. I suspect that without Ulysses I’d be using this plugin to write posts, along with NerdTree and other plugins to keep things organised. It doesn’t just preview Markdown, but understands formats like PlantUML as well. When you start the preview the settings are to open a page in your default browser, which is kept in sync as you type. Vim using the preview plugin is surprisingly good. MarkdownPadīriefly - it’s Windows only and has a very outdated UI, which makes sense since the last update was in 2014. ![]() If you want Markdown you have to export the file. One feature that is lacking is direct publishing as Markdown - publishing expects to export to HTML or Jekyll format. I have a private instance that I use sometimes. It lacks some of the features like tags, but the features it has work well. It has a nice smooth UI, good integration with other sites, and it’s free software. Ulysses isn’t priced per platform, and is even included in the Setapp subscription. In addition, each supported platform is purchased separately so it would cost me $60 to use both Mac and iOS. One downsides for me was that iA Writer doesn’t seem to have any concept of libraries, groups etc. They both have focus mode and the style checking does seem a nice feature. Those groups have more sheets inside - for example, a ‘user walkthrough’ sheet for the website in question. Things that aren’t developed much go in an ‘ideas’ sheet, while others get their own group. The features mean Ulysses is surprisingly flexible - while I use it for blogging, I also use it for tracking projects I’m working on. I’m going to resist the temptation to take a screenshot of each individual point and just link to the Ulysses app page instead, where they show off each feature at its best. There’s also a variety of features I don’t use (yet), simply because I haven’t needed to. it can export to multiple formats - Word document, PDF, HTML, Markdown, or even straight to ePub.Tie that with the iCloud sync and you can pick up and go. available on iOS, iPadOS and macOS, so it's available pretty much most places I might want to write.support for images and other attachments. ![]() there's a great markup helper in case you forgot a particular tag.sheets can also have tags and notes added.sheets can be arranged into groups and sub-groups, to help with organisation.the navigation panel makes it easy to move around what you're writing and see the outline of the work (using the headings).it integrates with multiple blogging platforms (Ghost, Medium, WordPress and Micro.blog), supporting the extra metadata available on each one.It has great Markdown support, but more than that: Here's why I've settled on Ulysses for my editing. I’ve tried various different editors for writing text - iA Writer, MarkdownPad, StackEdit, and of course Vim/Emacs. It has the advantage of being fairly simple to learn and using only normal text characters for formatting.
